City of Culture

In addition to the events and productions staged by institutions of international renown, such as the Opera House and the Kunsthaus Zurich Museum of Fine Arts, numerous smaller event organizers round out a broad program with an inspiring diversity of concerts, dance festivals, exhibitions and talks.

City of Sport

There’s hardly any sport that you won’t find in Zurich. Numerous sports and pool facilities, and more than 500 sports clubs, make it easy to get moving and have fun.

The first stop for UZH staff is the Academic Sports Association Zurich (ASVZ), which offers an attractive range of over 120 sports. You’re sure to find your favorites – and can always try something new.

City of Leisure

The City of Zurich and its surrounding area are also an attractive living and recreational space, with a range of ways to spend your free time. Its fantastic location on Lake Zurich and close to the Alps means that the region offers a whole range of activities on land, in the local forests, or in or on the water. The primary sources of ideas for trips and things to do in Zurich, its surrounding area, and Switzerland in general are Zurich Tourism, the ZVV, Switzerland Tourism and the SBB.
